An attempt to combine stop motion animation with a CG character. I wrote this short story then created the video-board so my friend (the stop motion artist) Clifford Beddy had a good idea of the story and acting beats. We then spent upwards of 32 hours capturing the stop motion frame by frame. I then modelled a CG mannequin from scratch and created a custom rig for animating. Once the scenes were rendered I composited them in DaVinci Resolve using rotoscoping techniques to marry the footage and CG plates. I also added a slight blur on the CG layer to emulate depth of field and graded it to match as best I could.
Unfortunately, while working on the project, my hard drives crashed and I lost all the progress and assets besides this render with 3 unfinished shots. I will be recreating the project since I've received the original footage from Cliff, this time with a model that more closely resembles the original mannequin.
